A conference in Nigeria next year will bring together some of the world's biggest investors to look for solutions to climate change on the African continent.
The Climate Action Africa Forum 2024 (CAAF24) will be held in Lagos on June 19, 2024, and it's being billed as a "premier platform for African climate tech startups to engage with investors and stakeholders alike," reports the Guardian.
The conference will feature a " Deal Room" where climate-tech startups will be able to present their ideas to potential funders.
"It is important to note that the event is not a competition for pitches or prizes but one aimed at fostering meaningful connections," says Ifedy Eze, executive director of IDEA Africa, which is hosting the conference with Climate Action Africa and the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute.
"The focus is on nurturing dialogue and partnerships that can lead to tangible investment and support for projects, aligning perfectly with IDEA Africa's vision for sustainable development," he adds.
The African Development Bank, the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, the African Development Bank, the Catalyst Fund, and the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund are just a few of the big-name investors expected to attend, per a press release.
